"What Must I Do To Be Saved?"
Acts 16:30
"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
FIRST: Man Needs To Recognize.... GOD'S DESIGN - ABUNDANT LIFE
GOD LOVES YOU AND DESIRES THAT YOU EXPERIENCE JOY, PEACE, AND THE ABUNDANT LIFE. THIS LIFE IS IN GOD'S ONLY BEGOTTEN (UNIQUE) SON, JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD.
The BIBLE says...
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 11:25
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in Me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live."
John 10:10
"... I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
WE MUST THEN ASK OURSELVES THIS QUESTION:
"What keeps most people from experiencing the joy, peace,
and the abundant life
that God has planned for them?"
SECOND: Man Needs To Recognize His Problem Of Sin Which Causes Him
To Be Separated From God.
Isaiah 59:2
"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you,
that he will not hear."
God created man in HIS own image (GENESIS 1:26) and made him a free moral agent. Man chose to disobey God. Man's rebellion against God is called sin. Man therefore is a sinner by nature and by choice.
Romans 5:12
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned:"
MAN willfully chose to disobey God and go his own
way. Man still makes this choice today.
This results in
ETERNAL SEPARATION from God, in HELL FOREVER.
The BIBLE says...
Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,"
Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; (separation from God) but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
There is only one solution for this problem of separation.
THIRD: Man Needs To Recognize God's solution to sin
The Cross
Our LORD JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY solution to this problem of separation.
When our LORD died on the Cross, He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap from GOD to man.
The BIBLE says...
Romans 5:8
"But GOD commendeth(showed) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Ephesians 2:8,9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast."
God has provided in Christ the ONLY way of salvation.
Acts 4:12
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved."
Fourth: Man Must Receive Christ As Savior.
Romans 6:23 (and many other verses) tells us that "The Gift Of God Is Eternal Life Through Jesus Christ Our Lord." A Gift Is Not A Gift Unless It Is Received.
We must TRUST THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and RECEIVE HIM into our hearts by personal invitation.
The BIBLE says...
Revelations 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. (Christ is speaking): if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come into him."
John 1:12
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on His name."
Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Is there any good reason why you cannot receive Jesus Christ as Your Savior right now?
To Be Saved You Must:
Repent and believe the Gospel: that Jesus Christ died on the Cross - shed His precious blood to pay your sin debt - and arose again as the Bible teaches, and by FAITH fully trust Him for your salvation.
Call upon Him right now.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
DEAR LORD JESUS, I KNOW THAT I'M A SINNER AND DO BELIEVE THAT YOU DIED ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS. HERE AND NOW I TRUST YOU AS MY PERSONAL SAVIOUR AND DEPEND ON YOU TO TAKE ME TO HEAVEN. NOW HELP ME TO LIVE FOR YOU AND BE A GOOD CHRISTIAN, AMEN.
